Description of InterestsDr. Massey’s research is focused on the psychological characterization of women who successfully quit smoking during pregnancy as a basis for identifying modifiable factors linked to cessation that ca... read moreDr. Massey’s research is focused on the psychological characterization of women who successfully quit smoking during pregnancy as a basis for identifying modifiable factors linked to cessation that can be targets for future interventions. An additional area of interest concerns the role of oxytocin in perinatal mood and behaviors. Clinical interests include individualized treatment approaches to substance use disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, and eating disorders. Her treatment philosophy takes into account an individual's own strengths, personality, spiritual and cultural background, social environment, and motivation for change. Dr. Massey is board certified in Psychiatry with additional qualifications in Addiction Medicine and Office-Based Treatment of Opiate Dependence with Buprenorphine.
