Dr. Massey is the Principal Investigator on a Career Development Award (K23) from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (2015 - 2020) to examine maternal empathy as a central mechanism in addictive behavior change during pregnancy. She is also the Principal Investigator of a study on the impact of prenatal cannabis use on pregnancy and birth outcomes funded by a Dixon Translational Research Grant (2017 - 2018).
