Research Focus:
Research interests include ADHD, child and adolescent psychiatric epidemiology, and implementation of evidence-based practices. Interests also include writing and editing professional books, most recently Dulcan’s Textbook of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Clinical Interests:
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). More broadly, interests in the full range of child and adolescent psychopathology, for which clinical practice is almost entirely focused on the leadership of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of Children’s Memorial Hospital and the Warren Wright Adolescent Center of Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

Philosophy of Care:
It is important to maintain a biopsychosocial perspective on evaluation and treatment of children, adolescents, and their families. Biological (genetic, medical), family, community, school, and individual factors are all essential to consider.
