The Clinical Psychology PhD Program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is a unique program that was recently ranked 12th in the nation among clinical psychology PhD programs.1 Founded on a scientist-practitioner model, the overall goal of the program is to graduate academic psychologists who are competent, ethical, and productive in the science and practice of clinical psychology. Our program emphasizes the integration of science and clinical practice.
PLEASE NOTE: The PhD Program is moving to a fully-funded student model. Beginning in September 2018, all students admitted to the Clinical Psychology PhD Program in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences will receive a Research Assistant Scholarship or equivalent award that provides 100% tuition remission, health insurance, and a monthly stipend (see Tuition/Financial Aid for more information).
The program is supported by both Feinberg and The Graduate School at Northwestern University and takes advantage of its placement within an academic medical center by balancing research and clinical training, as well as providing opportunities for translational research and practice that span molecular to social models of disease, and epidemiologic to clinical and neuroimaging methodologies.
